Rebirth of Classic Rock
by Dannie Singleton
Music means so much
to me. The words can take me
away. Clear my mind
of the trouble of the world
around me. Every song might
not work that way. But
the ones that do are special
to me. Classic rock
fills my head. The music of
the seventies and sixties
are the ones that make
me fly. The raw, smooth sounds and
gnarly solos that
are torn or coaxed from guitars
and drums. The power and soul
in the lyrics that
pour from the lips of rock and
roll god or goddesses.
They sweep through my mind and take
control of my soul.
An assault on your
mind with words that were nothing
more then an acid
trips from burnt out rockers. Yet
these words were a mantra for
the rebelling teens
who are now blue collar joes,
who’s children have found
their old albums and given
those old songs their own meanings.

Yes.. This poem just about sums up how I feel about classic rock. It's like a second life for me.
